Route Directions 

From the southern, central or western part of the Netherlands, take any route to Amsterdam. From Amsterdam, take the A7 following the signs for Zaandam, Hoorn and Leeuwarden. Take the exit for Den Oever, Hippolytushoef and Den Helder. Follow this road (along Amstelmeer) heading towards Den Helder until you reach the bridge across the Noord-Hollands Kanaal. Cross the bridge and turn left. Along the canal, Camping De Donkere Duinen is signposted. Turn left at the sign for Gemini Ziekenhuis/Westoever. From there, follow the signs for Camping De Donkere Duinen.

 From the northern or eastern part of the Netherlands, take any route to the Afsluitdijk. On the Afsluitdijk, follow the signs for Den Oever, Hippolytushoef and Den Helder. Follow this road (along Amstelmeer) heading towards Den Helder until you reach the bridge across the Noord-Hollands Kanaal. From there, follow the same instructions as above.
